CAS(E) this Sketch and AAA Cards Challenge

I am playing with CAS(E) this Sketch

today.  And with AAA Game # 45 It's So Hot!   I have a couple of friends who have birthdays coming up and I thought it would be fun to use PTI Flipping Out stamp set. Because for me, nothing says summer like flip flops wish I could wear them year round!!

It's so Hot! They want to see our summer cards - think summer activities, food, weather, beaches - whatever!

A high overcast day today here in the Portland, Oregon area.

Still 76 but high humidity!  Good day to play inside!!

I am playing with CAS(E) this Sketch.

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE the MISTI?  Well, I do!

It is so fun to stamp two or three times and get a nice solid crisp image every single time!

I even showed my granddaughter how to use it with die cuts... perfect every time..and when she stamped the sentiment on her card, it wasn't inked very good.  No problem, she just reinked it and it was perfect!

Two Challenges ~ One Card

I am seriously in need of comfort cards and sympathy cards for my bible study ladies, I can barely keep up with the demand!  Sad, isn't it?  Lucky for me there were two challenges that worked for this card.  The first is CAS ology:  Blossoms

The second is CAS(E) this Sketch # 114

I pulled out my favorite blossom stamp from Clearly Besotted:  Happy Everything and I white embossed it and used water with distress inks to paint in the petals and leaves!

I then used Lil' Inkers Stitched rectangles die and cut out the center portion and adhered it flat to the card base.  The frame was attached with dimensional tape to raise it up.

are playing together...I decided to join in the fun!

 I had a few goodies waiting for me when I returned from our Oklahoma trip, one of them was the new PTI package.  I used the new luggage tag die and the stamps and dies from Note Niblets...that little set has a lot of fun images.  Here I used some PTI pattern paper in aqua mist cut at a diagonal...I really think I need to buy a BIG striped stamp!

Yeah, I received my Beautiful Brushstrokes Kit from PTI!!

And I added a couple of those wonderful raindrops, they add so much to the flower, they look like dew drops on the petals!

CAS(E) this Sketch # 79

A very different sketch for me this time at CAS(E) this Sketch.

But I thought I needed to break out of my comfort zone.

I pulled out PTI Autumn Pattern Pieces and stamped them in almost a rainbow color...

I was missing a few of the colors because I ran out of room on the card!!

Then I took a SSS set called Thanks and embossed the sentiments over the stamped image.

Pretty quick and easy.

I used PTI Scent - mentals pumpkin and die...placed it on a MFT square stitched stax (which had been run through the Big Shot with the super stripes IP.  The sentiment is from Falling Leaves (PTI).

I am still making some sympathy cards to bring to a sale...they were requested...so I used the sketch from HERE and made my card.  Here is the sketch:
I decided to keep it pretty much all one layer, except I did add some dimensionals before adhering it to the card base.

CAS(E) this Sketch #24

 

A new sketch this week ...I pulled out a stamp that has never seen ink...imagine that!!  I got it almost three years ago at the summer CHA.  It is a Unity Itty Bitty Stamp called Dream.Big

The first thing I did was die cut a piece of masking paper from a Spellbinders Label 2 die and attached it to my paper.  Using some Distress Ink (peeled paint, broken china, and wild honey) I applied the ink to the negative part of the die cut.  I then stamped the set of three butterflies with versamark and embossed with black zing powder.  The sentiment is from a Hero Arts sentiment set which is also black embossed.

Nasty day here today in Oregon...lots of wind and rain...HOWEVER, if the weather man is to be believed, it should get into the high 70s by next week!!
