CASual Friday ~ A good Egg!

CAS-ual Fridays challenge this week is all about OVALS.

 

Products used:

 

PTI paper:  white, soft stone plain and pattern

MFT Stamps:  Easter Bunny, PTI Egg Hunt (sentiment)

inks:  PTI kraft, aqua mist, sweet blush, berry sorbet, summer sunrise, simply chartreuse, winter wisteria, spring rain, HA Latte chalk ink

dies:  MFT Easter bunny, Lil' Inkers Stitched Ovals

 

I stamped the eggs on the side to make my own pattern strip and attached soft stone paper to the sides.  The oval was die cut with stitched mat and I used dimensional tape to adhere the basket.  The bunny and the eggs were attached using DOTS  from Deanna's blog, she has them on sale, only until the end of Saturday...so jump on it and buy some you will not be disappointed...they add just a bit of dimension, maybe half of the scotch dimensional roll.  Go to her blog and check it out...Kloset Kreations.

CAS(E) this Sketch & CAS-ual Fridays

CAS-ual Friday Challenge

Aqua, Green and orange are the colors for this challenge...and since I just received this cool stamp from MFT called Tropical Sensations, I decided to use it.  I die cut the flower and leaves (partially) from a PTI aqua mist pattern paper, then stamped and used a little masking.  If you want to play along go  HERE .  My inks were orange zest, new leave and terra cotta tile.

                                                                  

Another Graduation Card ~ CAS-ual Fridays

I had an idea and wanted to see if I could pull it off...I think I did!!  I had just gotten the stamp set "Pedal Pusher" from Papertrey Ink and was thinking about the bike, (my grandson rides his bike all around the neighborhood) and thinking I could add stars to the back tails (it comes with hearts on cans, what you might see on the back of a bike or car for someone who just got married) and then I used the hat from "For the Graduate" and had it blowing off the bike...I stamped the lines with class of 2013 in memento london fog hoping it would resemble cement...I think that worked pretty good too. So I am linking this up to the CAS-ual Fridays challenge which you can access HERE. 
The school colors are red and white...so I kept with that theme.

CAS-ual Fridays # 103

I am on a roll people and I only have one grandson graduating from 8th grade!!  Ha...but I do have other people that want graduation cards for this class...so here is another one and it will be entered into the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge cue word "Congratulations"!

So glad I bought this stamp set from PTI...and just this month, too!!  I drew the two lines below the Congrat's word by hand.

Okay folks, I am giving a try to TWO challenges...let's see how I did.  First up is CAS-ual Friday's Birthday Bash...no problem,I can handle that.

Next up is this FUSION challenge where you can take one challenge on the left, or take from  the challenge on the right...OR you can FUSE them together and use both challenges.

This is what I came up with:

What I saw for the FUSION challenge was something that looked like a flower, but I didn't want to use a flower, so I looked at the other challenge and I saw black, white, some gray and of course the bright fuschia color...which I used raspberry fizz, the brightest hot pink I had.  I decided to combine the two and used my pinwheel stamp from Stamps of Life.  You can see I managed to get some black and white stripes on the card, then the pinwheel in place of the flower...AND the sentiment of course lends itself to the CAS-ual Fridays Birthday Bash Challenge.  BTW, can I just make a comment about CAS-ual Friday stamp set that several people used?  I don't get the "amazeballs"...can someone explain it to me?

CAS-ual Friday ~ Color Blocks

Use blocks of color in your Clean And Simple creations.

As always, projects are NOT limited to just cards :)  

I used my cubed ink pads and stamped them directly onto a piece of paper, then I added some little stamps to each.  Tied a black twine around it and it is good to go.  I adhered it with dimensionals to the card base.  Go HERE to enter this challenge.

CAS-ual Fridays Making your own background

This is the BEFORE picture...and after putting it on the blog I thought to myself, well, this is okay, but I wonder if this is really considered a wallpaper background since I did a masking technique which I saw on Jennifer McGuire's blog.  And then truth be told I was not too happy with how that one flower in the top right of the frame turned out...and that was even stamping it a second time.  So, I decided that I needed to just cut out the frame and adhere it with dimensionals (which, BTW are from Deanna Jeans blog and they are called "dots")  the link is for her etsy store.

This is the AFTER picture...after I die cut the frame and adhered it with the dimensionals I mentioned above from klosetkreations...you all know Deanna, she is the queen of CAS...absolutely love her style and I try to CAS her a lot because her cards are so cool.  In fact, when I am going to make a card, I think to myself, now how would Deanna make this...or Stephanie from Stamping and Sharing...both are awesome...So that is it folks and I am going with it...Thanks for hanging in there with me and getting through this process.

CAS-ual Fridays and Seize the Birthday

I don't do this very often because I have trouble doing more than one challenge at a time, but this just worked out to use the sketch from Seize the Birthday - masculine card and CAS-ual Fridays, wallpaper...stamp your own background!   I used a mask for the circle, then using a pen made my dash lines around it so it would stand out a little better.  With the mask in place, I then stamped my gift boxes.  I used the same nestabilities die to cut the end of my banner so it would match up with the circle.

 I cut out my clouds using some pearlescent silver paper I had in my stash.  I die cut the PTI Little Princess castle and put it up in the clouds...the sentiment was selectively stamped from the Daydreamers stamp set. 

CAS-ual Friday # 91

It is all about silver....so I pulled out a little Hero Arts cling stamp named Antique Brocade...I stamped it with Adirondack Pearl Dabber...heat set it, then using a dauber, I sponged some soft lilac ink over it.  Using the same acrylic Adirondack paint, I dabbed it all over the two hearts pulling it up to give it some texture.  The sentiment is from PTI script sentiment set and I added some pearls to the heart.  Want to play along?  Go Here to CAS-ual Friday to see what the designers made for inspiration.  Then make a card and link it up!

CAS-ual Friday # 64

Clean And Simple projects featuring things you'd see in the sky...

   I haven't played with Floral Foliage yet and I was reminded by my BFF (in fact, I stole her idea...she said she was going to make something with that tree...)  We are skyping, so I jumped right on it and whipped this baby out in less than 5 minutes!!  It is a 3.5 x 5 card..I am liking this size a lot...less space to fill in!!  And I love the Happy Trails stamp set, but I don't think I have used that little paper airplane yet, so I inked it up and away we go...the grassy hills were made  a scrap paper from the In The Meadow die...I just used a sponge and inked it up.


  Hope you all are having a great weekend...it was 102 degrees here in Oregon today...quite unusual, in fact it has been three years since we have had those kind of temperatures!!  Definitely a good day to be in the craft room!!

CAS-ual Fridays # 63 using three colors

Create a Clean And Simple project using the challenge colors:  lime, aqua & navy

I needed a baby card for a friend who has a first grandchild...a little boy and she is really excited about this little baby.  Unfortunately, her daughter, husband and baby live in Colorado and she lives here in Oregon!  His name is Grady, so I used the elephant from PTI's Sweet Pea, stamped in chartreuse green, blueberry sky, and aqua mist.  Then I pulled out the Heart 2 Heart # 5 and die cut the banners in the same color paper and stamped his letters on each one.  The Welcome stamp is from Wreath for all Seasons...and I couldn't resist using the heart die for a 'grassy' border!  Thanks for taking a look!  Have a great weekend!

Clean And Simple card using a black card base

CAS-ual Fridays is all about using a black card base...this stamp is a reverse stamp image, so black memento ink was used and I kept the flowers and leaves all white...a little pop of red with the fillable frames.

CFC61: Use strips of color or pattern in your Clean And Simple creation

This is a really simple and clean card...I used three strips of washi tape and a sentiment from Signature Series:  Dress Form, a PTI stamp.

The top strip is a silhouette of a lady, then Friend forever and finally just a purple narrow strip...couldn't be easier!
