Colour Q # 292

Because there is an extension in this Colour Q challenge I was able to post this card.
The technique for this card was from Julie Ebersol over at The Classroom.
she showed how to do a special and partial die cutting.
I love this and it was really easy, go check it out on the blog.

I used a nestabilities circle die and the dies from PTI Bitty Bouquets.
The sentiment was embossed with Ranger pink embossing powder which is so pretty and so easy to
emboss, it is yummy!  And I love the color, it really looks more like Berry Sorbet  which is the color I used for the strawberry slush.
The background was sponged on with distress inks with the same yellow, orange and aqua colors.
Thanks for taking a look!

Colour Q Challenge # 239

I laid down some painters tape on two sides and then sponged on my colors,
sure looks bolder and brighter in the picture than it is in real life?
I used PTI Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, and Orange Zest
the image and sentiment were done in Ripe Avocao.
I mounted it on a ripe avocado card base.

You can go HERE  to play along.

Thanks for taking a look!
And we have sun and warmth!
Suppose to be in the 80's for the next few days!!

Make It Monday and Colour Q

Today I am taking the Make It Monday # 136 Textured Stamping and Colour Q # 211 and letting them meet!  Ashley has a video on Capture the Moment demonstrating how she got some texture on her stamping.
I used the balloons from Birthday Bash and the sentiment from Think Big Favorites # 12.
I stamped the balloons with raspberry fizz, lemonade ice, and orange zest and then swiped the pad across the inked image before stamping.  I did stamp some second generation stamping for some of the balloons.

This is a fun technique to get some texture on your solid images.
We are having a little Indian Summer here in Oregon...wow nearly 70 degrees today.

ColourQ Challenge # 192

Such pretty colors for the challenge this week.  HERE is the link to play along.
I  have been playing with the Ruby Rose set since I received it...such a fun flower to play with and add all sorts of color combinations.
I stamped the background script sentiment (MFT Poppy) with memento London Fog ink.
I then stamped the flowers and the die cuts using Blueberry Sky and Spring rain.
The leaves are stamped in Spring Moss ink.
The birthday sentiment is also from the MFT Poppy stamp set.
I added some faux pearls to the center and to random places on the card.
The card is backed with MFT "steel gray" color, placed then on a white card base.

ColourQ Challenge # 189

There is a little story behind this "Joy" card...last Saturday I was at a Mother's Day luncheon at my church...the two hosts of the event talked about 'serving with love' and when you serve with love you are filled with joy and you spread that joy to others.  They then each held up a jar of JOY liquid detergent and told us they were passing the "Joy" to a random lady in the room, and throughout the luncheon, that person could then pass it on to someone else!  And the other thing they mentioned about the word "JOY" is that it could be an acronym for Jesus Over You!  Do you love it?  The Joy certainly comes from the love of Our Lord, and He would definitely want us to pass that love or joy on...so I made this card to give to the two hostesses!  They are two very special ladies!  The inspiration from this card came from Betsy Veldman HERE .  Now I really liked how she did her card, but when I tried it, it just didn't look quite right to me, so I just stamped the same joy flower all over the page...I did emboss the die though onto various parts of the card.

This is going to the ColourQ Challenge which you can access HERE .

ColourQ Challenge # 186

Fun colors at the Colour Q Challenge this week...go check it out...
I used Papertrey ink...so my colors were:  raspberry fizz, orange zest, and limeade ice.  My hello definition in the background is stamped with kraft ink...that is a Hero Arts stamp.  The larger flowers are also Hero Arts, the smaller ones are from PTI Birds & Bloom.  I cut a strip of white paper and swiped the three primary colors on the sheet, then I used the "hello" die from PTI Wonderful Words:  hello to die cut the word, I used dimensional tape to adhere it to the card base.  I added a twinery twine in the hot pink color.

This was a fun color combo to play with!  I hope you will go give it a try too!

Colour Q and Freshly Made Sketches

I have a new stamp set given to me by my BFF of 56 years!  She came down from Seattle to visit me for my birthday (outside Portland, Oregon) and she gave me several little goodies.  The stamps are from The Stamps of Life...the pinwheels2stamp!  I love it and have always wanted a pinwheel stamp...so I couldn't resist using it for both the color challenge on Colour Q and also the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches!
These are the colors...I substituted PTI colors and used berry sorbet, summer sunrise, scarlet jewel and kraft and of course white!  Go HERE for the info on the Colour Q challenge and go HERE to check out the sketch and the inspiration from the design team.
