JUGS meets CAS(E) this Sketch and CAS Mix Up!!

Hi Friends!  It is so nice to be back playing in the studio, it has been forever!
DH and I headed back down to AZ on New Years Day, we had to check on the house painters and then turn the key over to our renters...a quick turn around for sure.  The first day it poured, like really hard...hard enough to have "washes" over the roads...definitely had to slow down to go through them!  We were thinking we could have stayed home for rain! *wink  But the last couple of days were very nice and the reason people love to go to AZ in the winter!  But enough, I am back and happy to be housebound because of SNOW right now, then 1 1/2 inches predicted of freezing rain!!  I know we will lose our power with that much ice on the lines!  But I get to play so I love this weather!!
I am entering this is two challenges, the first is the CAS(E) this Sketch then the Word for this week's challenge over at Just Us Girls is "NEW".
I was playing this morning with NEW alcohol ink and NEW Yupo paper.  When I was done I needed to make a card, saw this sketch and thought it would be perfect to put the two together.  Also NEW is the flowers I die cut and colored with copics.  The flowers are Altenew Doodle Blooms.  My sentiment is from PTI Wet Paint I. Loll just suggested I add this to the CAS Mix Up Card challenge, so I will take this one there also, thanks Loll!
Thanks for stopping by and checking on me!!
I think I might just sit by the window and watch the pretty snow come down.  I have been knitting Boot Cuffs and I started another pair last night, so I can knit while I enjoy the white stuff!  Hope you all are safe and dry and warm!!

Muse # 176 by Linda

My BFF, Linda is the MUSE this week, you must go check out her card!
I pulled out an older SSS stamp set called Butterfly Friends and partially die cut them along the edge of the card, then stamped them.  I added some PTI Fancy Flourishes to the card.  My sentiment is also from SSS called Thanks!

Have a great week friends!!

30 Day Coloring Challenge Day 4

I took a lot of the little stamps from Altenew's Garden Grow and randomly stamped them with versafine and then embossed with clear Wow EP.  I then used my Zig Clear Real Brush pens to color the images.  The sentiment is also an Altenew called Label Love.

This is for Day 4 of the 30 Day coloring challenge going on over at Kathy's blog called the Daily Marker.  She is just encouraging us to color every day!!

Online Watercolor class day 4

"Lost & Found" details was the title of this video by Debbie Hughes...why you ask?
It is all about softening the edges of the images and dragging them out.
I also did a little "lifting" to take away some color and give more depth.
And of course "splatters" was a must!
Lots more to catch up...not sure if I ever will!

Day 6 ~ another Jennifer card.. .intermediate watercolor class

I had to try it again with different colors...love the purple and red combo!
Can you see I did some "lifting"  to define the petals?
I had a friend request Thank you cards...I figured these were great cards with those sentiments.

I have another card..NOT for this watercolor class though!
I embossed in white the Persian Motifs from Altenew and used Inktense pencils and water to color it in...another Thank you card for the stash!

Day 6 of the Intermediate Watercolor Class

Did you notice I skipped day 3, 4, and 5 and went right to day 6?
I will try to go back this week and revisit those days...some were way over my head and NOT something I could tackle.  I can barely draw a flower stem let alone freehand a whole background of leaves and flowers!!  Trust me it is so TRUE!
But when I saw Jennifer McGuire's interpretation of this class, I gave it a try...practiced front and back on a whole sheet...finally felt comfortable to make a card...
So here it is...
Thanks for stopping by and looking!!

Sharing handmade Kindness....

Go check out her blog and them make and send a card to a family member or a friend!
you can also click on Share a handmade Kindness Badge over on the left of my sidebar.
One day last week I received a card in the mail from a fellow blogger...I had joined her as a follower...and she surprised me with a "handmade card of kindness"  because it was filled with colored little doilies and little paper packets...so sweet!  Maybe you all know her ~  she is Taunya from Daisies Girl.  Go check out her blog, she has delightful creations!

So I am paying it forward by sending her this card.
And this is just the push I need to make a few more cards and send them out to people I don't see, but think about often.
A big Thank You to Jennifer McGuire for this challenge and offering up prizes!
However, the real gift is in giving!

Heart Hugs my friends!

MIM 3 209 white on white die cuts with a pop of color

Lexi Daly has a video showing her technique of white on white die cuts with a pop of color over at Nichole Heady's Blog!  I love it!
I went really simple this time using a word from Wet Paint.
Sometimes a simple thank you (repeated) is all that is needed...of course the inside has a little bit more to say!

We are supposed to get to 79 degrees today!!  Yahoo, love the sun!
Go out and make it a great week, friends and "Thanks" for stopping by!

Final card for Day 1 Online Class ~ Masked heat embossing

I was pleasantly surprised that it worked for me, although I am NOT happy with the zing embossing powder, it would NOT melt and it doesn't blend well, except for that I was able to stamp my background and mask off and then apply the different colors of powder.
And here we go again with another 'boo boo'...I can't even tell you how long I used my heating tool to emboss this card...OMG it took forever and when I 'thought' I was done (of course, I turned it this way and that to scrutinize the embossing) I was ready to apply my sentiment (which is a Lawn Fawn: Thanks) die cut with black cardstock and embossed twice with rangers 'black sparkle' powder...wow is this ever cool looking when it is all done.  Oh, but wait, my orange powder was NOT embossed...oh shoot...so, since some of it flaked away, nothing to do but add a strip of black paper to cover up the smear...I think I am done with zing powder!
the background stamp is a Hero Arts stamp called "tablecloth"

Okay, now for day 2...hope this goes better for me!!

One more for Less is More!

One more card for the
where the theme is anything foliage...
and it must be a one-layer card!
This time I pulled out PTI's Leave it Be and inked it up.
I embossed the Think Big sentiment with chestnut zing powder.

CAS(E) this Sketch # 79

A very different sketch for me this time at CAS(E) this Sketch.
But I thought I needed to break out of my comfort zone.
I pulled out PTI Autumn Pattern Pieces and stamped them in almost a rainbow color...
I was missing a few of the colors because I ran out of room on the card!!
Then I took a SSS set called Thanks and embossed the sentiments over the stamped image.
Pretty quick and easy.

Thanks for taking a look, I hope you will go see what the DT made...their cards are pretty awesome and inspiring!

Colour Me # 14 & Card Concept #7

I know this looks really red almost, but it is definitely an orange.
I sponged the flowers from a stencil, starting with bright orange zest
and then going with a lighter hand and less of the ink for the remaining flowers.
I am entering this in both the colour Me # 14

I just wanted to show you the card...I was having some editing issues and it would not let me crop or edit this card, so I started all over, but truly the colors are what you are asking for...more pumpkin than red!

Either way, I do like the card and using one color is pretty striking!
stamps:  PTI Wet Paint, Butterfly Dreams
ink:  PTI orange zest
stencil:  MFT spring flowers

Friends, I am going to be out of the craft room for almost a week
My husband and I are going to a practice round of the Master's Golf in Augusta, Ga,
That is just one day, then we are going down to Savannah and spend a couple of days, then head to Charleston, SC for another couple of days before we drive up to Atlanta and see some of the sights and explore that city.
So I will be able to play a little bit more today, but if I don't check back in, have a good week and I will see you all sometime during Easter Week!

Heart Hugs,
Colleen

I cut the angle myself...no die,
and added a strip of Pure Poppy striped pattern paper.
the 'thanks' is from Embroidered Blooms.
