Muse # 176 by Linda

My BFF, Linda is the MUSE this week, you must go check out her card!
I pulled out an older SSS stamp set called Butterfly Friends and partially die cut them along the edge of the card, then stamped them.  I added some PTI Fancy Flourishes to the card.  My sentiment is also from SSS called Thanks!

Muse by "Neets & Crafty"

Today I am playing along with the Muse Challenge # 161 by the talented Anita!

She used Brushos and had a beautiful piece of paper to work with, then added a delicate and intricate flower die cut.  I used some of my stash made with inka gold and a smooshing technique that Loll shows on her blog, here is a link to the video.  I had several papers made up so I pulled out two and die cut the Fresh Daisies from SSS.
The Inka gold for the flower is called Steel Blue. The background paper was made with smooshing distress ink and Inka Gold platinum onto the paper.
We had a great Sunday, up very early (5:30 AM) to drive an hour away and watch our granddaughter Ellie play in a volleyball tournament.  Her team has managed to stay in the Platinum division all season (that is above the Gold division!!).  And this was the best one of all...her team WON the division.  And that included four teams from the Washington Volleyball Ass.!  Sadly her parents missed this tournament as they planned a little get away to NYC for 5 days!!  But we cheered the team on and celebrated with them. Now they can go to our regional finals as a number ONE seed!
We have one more travel tournament to Reno next weekend before our final regional tournament!
Here is a picture of the team, Ellie is in a white jersey (she is the libero).  My husband is standing on the right.

Have a great week friends!

Heart Hugs, friends!
And can I just take a moment
to thank Loll Thompson for working with me to get a watermark and my signature on my blog?  She is awesome, because I am not sure it was easy to work with me, I am so computer challenged....but she stuck with me and we got it done and I love it and I so appreciate her talent, her time and all the energy she put into helping me with this task.
Loll, you are the best, most patient person and I LOVE the watermark and my signature, so Thank you very much!!

Muse # 150

Jenni has a beautiful card for this week's MUSE Challenge.
That flower from Clearly Besotted is the first flowers I purchased from that company, (Happy Everything). it is my favorite and I absolutely loved Jenni's card and design.
I would have liked to just copy the whole thing!
Since I am taking the Online Watercolor class, I thought I would use some of the techniques on this card.
I embossed the wonky chevron (MFT) and then did a water brush background going from a darker gray to a lighter gray.
I did the drop in technique from Altenew that I learned last week when I watercolored the flower.  I added the same Pearl Pen drops for the center of the flowers as Jenni did.
I think this makes a striking card and perfect for either sympathy or praying for you.

Here is Jenni's card!

Thanks for stopping by!

Muse # 149

The Muse Challenge this week is by Tracey McNeely!
I love her clean and simple style of card making!!
I decided to pull out an MFT stamp:  Forget Me Not
Even though it is not in blue, I decided to pick up one of the colors Tracey used on the flowers, plus there are three of them!  And I loved her swirly green stem and leaves!
I think I need to make a couple of more cards, I have two aunts in their 90's that I could send these cards..they would love them!

Have a great day!

Muse # 148

The Muse this week is by Anita...I liked the clean and simple design she had, although truth be told, I had trouble looking for something that resembled what she had.
I found this small scroll with tiny leaves in a sentiment set from PTI called Choose Joy, I had to stamp it three times across the page. Then I looked for a small flower that would work and I found one in Lawn Fawn's Penelope's Blossoms.
The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted:  Thinking of You.

Have a good week!

Muse # 147

I love the Muse inspiration by Michelle.
I love the black and white and the oval, which for some reason I seldom use!
I was thinking about another sympathy card, because I get the most requests for those,
but I decided a sweet 'thinking of you' would work on the outside, then if it needs to be a sympathy that can go inside, or if it needs to be a praying for you, this will still work.

stamps & dies:  PTI: Winter Woods & Words of Comfort; Li'l Inkers stitched ovals; WPlus9 Holiday Boughs
paper:  MFT Dots & Stripes Neutrals paper Pad

Muse Challenge # 31

Now here's your Monday Muse, Marion Vagg
                                Smile
Another great card by Marion Vagg....I loved her use of the flowers including the stems as the same color.  I like how she clustered them together and added a couple of strips under the flowers.  I pulled out Daydreamers and used winter wisteria and spring rain inks...the washi tape was in my stash and I like how they all bled together and bring out the colors!  Love this color combo!  If you want to play along, you can access the blog HERE .

Muse Challenge # 27

I managed to make a card for the Muse Challenge...I will be heading to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho for 9 days tomorrow and will not be making any cards...so thought I would get up early this morning and try to make a couple.  I love Tracey McNeely's style and she is the one who gave us this Muse Card:

I pulled out two MFT sets:  Roses and Cheerful Blessings to make my card.  I did a little masking and changed up the colors.  I used MFT Red Hot for the larger rose, PTI Terra Cotta Tile for the smaller rose and new leaf for the leaves.  I liked how Tracey added those clear sequins to the card, it really takes the card up a notch I think.  I added some white sequins to my card.

Muse # 20

We have a fabulous card to inspire us this week...it is from Laurie Willison over at the Muse Challenge # 20
Here is Laurie's card:

I loved her color choices and the three stamped images, so I decided to go with the same color theme and I chose three butterflies that I stamped in Orange Zest and colored in with copics yellow.  I added a little bit of glossy accents to the center of the butterflies.
My ribbon is the satin hawaiian shores ribbon from PTI.  Paper is PTI white, aqua mist and hawaiian shores.  the stamps are Butterfly Dreams and a Hero Arts sentiment stamp set.  As you can see I also scored a line under the three butterflies.  Thanks for taking a look...hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Muse # 19

Here is the Muse card for this week...what I really liked about it was the stamp set...one which I have only used a few times...so perfect opportunity to use it again. I liked how she framed the sentiment, so I did likewise by putting the wreath in the four corners.  I liked her one layer card, but decided to add some interest by stamping it on some pattern paper.  Would you like to play along?  Go HERE to link up to this weeks Muse card...join in the fun, then don't forget to vote for your top three favorites!

Muse Challenge # 17

Another great challenge and the muse card is from Therese Calvird, you can go HERE to check out the rules and link up your card...!
So I think you can guess what I am pulling from this card!  Ha ha...I loved her stacked elephants and all of them cut out from different pattern paper!  I also loved how she has the pattern paper down both sides of the main focus...So I stamped the cute little cuddly bear from PTI's Baby Button Bits onto the three shades of pink bitty dot paper...sweet blush, hibiscus burst and raspberry fizz, then I fussy cut them out.  I attached them to the white paper with Dots from Deanna Deans blog...go check them out...!! I also used the Sew Simple around the white paper with memento angel pink ink.  The striped paper on each side is part of the raspberry fizz pattern paper pack.

Muse # 13

"Another floral card this week - CAS and lots of white space, and with a big punch of drama from bold colours and shaded images.

We are free to draw inspiration from any of the elements of this week's Muse card. For example, design/layout, color combination, pattern, texture, image, style, embellishment and technique. Be creative and make a card that reflects your own personal style and flair."

I really liked her group of three flowers and also her bright colors.  I chose to use the Simple Sunflowers and I used a bit of copics to give some highlights to the flowers and leaves.
Here is the inspiration card that we can use.  Go check out the Muse Blog and then remember to vote for your favorites on Saturday and Sunday!

Muse # 12

MUSE  blog:  "You're free to draw your inspiration from any of the elements of this week's Muse card. For example, design/layout, color combination, pattern, texture, image, style, embellishment and technique. Be creative and make a card that reflects your own personal style and flair."  This is the inspiration card by Therese Calvird.  I really liked the flowing greenery, so thought my stem should follow suite...and I loved her colors, but didn't have anything real close, so I did a little rock and roll method to at least get some highlights on the flower.  I forgot to add the link to the Muse blog, go HERE to access it and look at the other participants cards...then YOU vote for your favorite three...that is how a winner is selected!

All products are Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted

Muse Challenge # 11

What drew me to the inspiration card was the die cut and the sentiment inside.  I had also seen a technique that Heather Nichol's did HERE  and thought I would give it a try.  I used watercolor paper and some distress inks to get the water color look.  You can access this challenge HERE and here is the card for inspiration.
IMG_9515_edited-1Have you played along with the Muse Challenge?  You must give it a try if you have not done so yet...You just take something from the inspiration piece and make it your own..  "You're free to draw your inspiration from any of the elements of this week's Muse card. For example, design/layout, color combination, pattern, texture, image, style, embellishment and technique. Be creative and make a card that reflects your own personal style and flair." Pretty fun don't you think?  AND then all you have to do is comment on THREE other cards...and who doesn't love getting comments about their masterpieces!!  On Saturdays, YOU get to vote for your favorite THREE and a winner is selected based on the votes...how cool is that??

Here is Therese's card for the Muse Challenge this week.

Muse Challenge # 7

I  loved her one layer card and the fact that the flower had petals and looked so nice when masked off.  I used the Friend's Till the End two flowers.  I stamped the larger flower in the center and then die cut the flower using a scrap of acetate.  I used the acetate as a mask before stamping the smaller flower on each side of the larger one.  As I was getting ready to tape it down I turned it like it is and decided I really liked it on its side, so left it that way!  The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I heat embossed it with white filigree embossing powder.  I tried several different colors of ribbon and decided on the bright summer sunrise and then added the scallop on the bottom, which is actually the heart die turned the other way!  I love how this has so much "white" space...it may not be at the bottom like hers, but it is on the top and side and I really like how it looks.  I added the hand drawn white dashes around the whole sentiment piece to finish it off.  The sentiment is also adhered with dimensionals.

stamps:  Friends Till the End
Ink:  scarlet jewel

Muse Challenge # 6

You're free to draw your inspiration from any of the elements of Deanna's card, shown above. For example, design/layout, color combination, pattern, texture, image, style, embellishment and technique. Be creative and make a card that reflects your own personal style and flair.   You can read more about the challenge HERE on the MUSE blog.

Well, I am not so clever with free hand drawing lines, so I guess my style is more uniform and using a ruler!  So this is what I came up with.   I liked the cluster of flowers, so I knew I wanted to do that and I liked her colors although mine are a bit more subdued.
Stamps:  PTI simple sunflower, CAS-ual Friday casual elegance
ink:  raspberry fizz, berry sorbet, hibiscus burst, limeade
    paper:  PTI rustic cream

Muse Challenge # 5

Here is the inspiration for this weeks challenge over at Muse...you want to check out at all the details?  Go HERE!

And here is my card:
I used Marion's idea of covering the card with washi tape for the background and pulled out my not used much stamp set Hello Sunshine...I love the sentiment inside:  Sending you a Little bit of Sunshine to brighten your day as you always brighten mine.  Isn't that a nice greeting?  Don't you think that would put a big smile and a warm hug on your heart if you received this card?  Have a great day...I don't think we will see the sun today, here in Oregon...right now it is raining...but that is what makes everything so GREEN here!  And we do have little crocus' popping up!  So spring is just around the corner!
