Online Clean & simple ~Day 5 ~ Direct to paper inking

Have you ever NOT had the right color of paper that you wanted to use, but you had the ink?
I had a pretty SSS ink called Audrey Blue so I just wiped it across my white paper to give me the color I wanted.  I used MFT "washi" stamp set and PTI's Bigger Blooms for the sentiment and Embellished Elegance for the flower and leaf sprig.

Revisiting Day 1 Faux Ceramic tiles Online Clean & Simple

Before I started on today's cards, I had this idea and needed to try it.
I am using Julie Ebersole's idea of inking up "inchies" for a faux ceramic tile look.
The die cut is from PTI Scent-imentals and inked up with distress ink and a dauber.
The sentiment is from Think Big #11.
My stripes for the background was made using Impression Obsession thin stripes background rubber stamp, but it didn't have enough sparkle to it, so I added some silver Wink of Stella to all the lines.
I also added Wink of Stella to the Hershey kiss...gold on gold, silver on silver and clear on the heart!
thanks for taking a look!

Online Clean & Simple Day 4 ~ Faux Embossing

This technique is tone on tone die cutting to get a look of embossed backgrounds.
I used PTI Polka dot Parade: Baby,  Wonderful Words:  Baby die and a sentiment from Inside & Out: Baby.

We have SUN!  Go out and make it a great day!!
Heart Hugs

Seize the Birthday ~ NO Topping

Welcome friends to another Seize the Birthday Challenge.
This week there is NO topping, so ANYTHING GOES!!
I am looking at all my older stamps and trying to make use of them...saw this postcard bundle from a PTI Friendship Jar: Spring
stamp set and thought that would pair up well with "sending you"...
so there you have it!  The black strip on the side is a washi tape and the birthday is a PTI die cut.  The "sending you" is from the  PTI stamp set titled the same, however the "wishes" is from PTI Fillable Frames #7!
I did pretty good using up some older stamps and sentiments!!
I hope you will join us in this challenge, we love to see what you create!

 Heart Hugs!

Online Clean & Simple Day 3 ~ Layered Inking

Jennifer's technique was layered inking.
I used SSS island blue ink and versamark...I didn't have the falling stars stencil, so I thought since this was a new baby I would go with my falling hearts!
the stamps are Avery Elle:  Storybook, Lawn Fawn die:  grassy borders, Lil'Inkers stitched mat.
I colored the cute fawn with copics.

Tthe sentiment is embossed with zing: Pink.

Online Clean & Simple Day 3 ~ Velveteen stamping

The cards for day 3 were all about background stamping.
I chose Karolyn Loncon's velveteen stamping for my first card.
Now, you do need some full size background stamps to make this work the easiest for you.  I tried the narrow  background strips, but I couldn't get them to line up good because you are stamping white ink on white paper and it was very difficult to see.

I took a close up so you can see how the background stamp shows through the solid color images.
Very nice technique, if I had more background stamps, I would definitely play around some more with this.

Day 2 Online clean & simple ~ Kristina's technique

Border gap die cutting is the technique shown by Kristina.
Okay, I think we are done with embossing, now we move onto die cutting.
This was fun and a way to think outside the box!
I used the stamps and dies from PTI Birthday Style
The sentiment is from SSS Birthday Balloons.
Distress inks were used for the strip.

Final card for Day 1 Online Class ~ Masked heat embossing

I was pleasantly surprised that it worked for me, although I am NOT happy with the zing embossing powder, it would NOT melt and it doesn't blend well, except for that I was able to stamp my background and mask off and then apply the different colors of powder.
And here we go again with another 'boo boo'...I can't even tell you how long I used my heating tool to emboss this card...OMG it took forever and when I 'thought' I was done (of course, I turned it this way and that to scrutinize the embossing) I was ready to apply my sentiment (which is a Lawn Fawn: Thanks) die cut with black cardstock and embossed twice with rangers 'black sparkle' powder...wow is this ever cool looking when it is all done.  Oh, but wait, my orange powder was NOT embossed...oh shoot...so, since some of it flaked away, nothing to do but add a strip of black paper to cover up the smear...I think I am done with zing powder!
the background stamp is a Hero Arts stamp called "tablecloth"

Okay, now for day 2...hope this goes better for me!!

Another card for Day 1 Online Class ~ 3 D Embossing

Are we all having fun learning new techniques?  These girls are just beyond crazy creative!
Here is my take on Kristina's card with a 3 D embossing technique:
I am still in the mood for Valentines cards, so I pulled out PTI background basics: heart.
I stamped it with raspberry fizz, then again with versamark and gold embossing powder.
Now this card was suppose to be a one layer card with the illusion that the background was all one stamp (it isn't, you have to stamp it multiple times to cover the sheet) so I masked it off, repeatedly stamped the hearts with the pink ink, then I went back and used versamark and gold embossing powder.  Yeah, then I was ready to stamp "happy"...cool, all done and embossed with gold, when I was getting ready to adhere my banner I realized I stamped the "happy" upside down!  OH NO!!  After all that work I just couldn't start over, so I decided to just cut a strip and add it on top of my boo boo...I am sure you have never done anything like that, right?  *wink*
So there you have it...kind of makes your eyes go all wiggly doesn't it?
Go out and make it a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Online clean & simple Day 1 Masked heat embossing

Jennifer showed a Masked heat Embossed technique.
I pulled out a Hero Arts Background Stamp called antique brocade...I don't have many large background stamps, but this one worked.
I not only embossed the heart in zing aqua, but also the whole card is embossed with white powder, IRL, it is all shiny and pretty!

One more technique, hope I get to it today, you know those classes, they keep rolling them out!

Rainbows during a storm of Life

We have an 11 year old girl from our parish family who was diagnosed with Leukemia and entered the hospital on Dec 23 to start chemo treatments.
The family is hoping she can come home for 2 days the end of this month, then back to the hospital...for 5 more months.
Our Bible study ladies are doing special things for her.
My 11 year old granddaughter and I are going shopping for some new pajamas for her!
I made this card:

Enjoy your week!

Online Clean & simple 4 ~ Day 1

Clean & Simple with Julie~
Faux Ceramic tile
I have been looking forward to this class because my "mojo" has been missing!
I really liked Julie's "faux ceramic tile" technique.
Off to try the other two techniques!

PTI January Blog Hop

It is all about the one you love
and telling them so...
I used PTI "Heart Cover Plate" over a panel that was swiped in gradient colors of light pink to purple.
The die cut heart and sentiment are from
"The Best is Yet to Be" stamp set.
It will be 44 years for us later in 2015!
I think our love is here to stay!

A Sketch for Seize the Birthday!

Seize the Birthday has something new for you to try...
a SKETCH for the topping!!
If you don't want to do a sketch, than anything goes!

Here is the sketch for you to try!

I had fun pulling out my Stamps of Life set called Pinwheel that my BFF got for me for a birthday a couple of years ago...it was needing some love.  The papers are all PTI as are the inks.  I added a little white enamel accents to the dots on the pinwheel.  I hope you find time to join us this time around.  I am needing to replenish my stash of birthday cards I hope you are too!

Heart Hugs friends!  Have a great weekend...I am taking the train up to Seattle tomorrow morning with my older daughter and a granddaughter.  The Granddaughter has a volleyball tournament Sunday and Monday.  My daughter wanted to go up early to visit a special friend, so I thought I would go up and spend the day with Linda...DH and other daughter (coach and assistant) will drive up Saturday.  Looking forward to spending some time with my BFF!

Seize the Birthday ~ HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Happy 2015 FRIENDS!!
Today our topping is "PARTY", perhaps many of you did your partying last night to bring in the New Year...now it is time to make a card all about a birthday party!
I hope you will be inspired by the Design Team and join us in this New Challenge of Seize the Birthday 2015!!
I didn't get a chance to play along with last week's MIM, but it was all about using your stamps to create a border and then having a center piece...so I pulled out an old Fresh Squeezed Stamp :  Life of the Party...the sentiment is from  SSS "Birthday Balloons".
TOPPING:  PARTY!!

We are just happy to see you join in the challenge, so you can always do "Anything Goes" for your card!  Just have fun with it...it seems we can never have too many birthday cards...after all those birthdays keep rolling around, year after year!

I wish you all the very best in 2015!
I hope it is filled with JOY, PEACE and abundance of LOVE!

Heart Hugs!
