A Two Fer!! CAS Mix Up June challenge and Just Us Girls

 

Hi Friends!  I am really scoring today with help from my BFF, Linda!

This card is going into Two challenges!

CAS Mix Up June Challenge,   and Just Us Girls Word Challenge       

While Linda and I were at the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo I of course HAD to buy a few things.
I purchased this cute die set from Elizabeth Craft Designs: Baby Charms Dies and the Baby Pajamas Layering Stencil.  I decided to try my Deco foil Transfer GEL for the heart stencil and then added a sweet mango foil from Gina K.  I die cut the pajamas, two from PTI Bitty Baby pattern paper and one that I sponged on a blue color and added the sponge red hearts to each of them.
The sentiment is from PTI's Sweet Baby.
This is our last full day together playing in Linda's craft room. 
We are definitely having a wonderful time and trying our foiling again!
In fact we are anxiously waiting for the mailman to come with an order from Blisty with more transfer paper and more foil...especially the rainbow foil paper!
I leave on a train tomorrow to head back home to Oregon.
It was so fun to be here for almost a week and spend time with my BFF.  We have known each other for 60 years...I know, you would think we were babies when we met, right?  ha ha...actually I as 7 and she was 8 (she is my OLDER best friend!!  **wink**)  So glad we like to stamp together!!

JUGS with vellum

My friend is going to be a grandmother for the third time, her son and daughter-in-law is expecting their first child in August and I am invited to the shower.  My daughter needed a baby girl gift also, so we bought a cute outfit from Gymboree.

It is a little onsie with bottoms that have cute little giraffte faces on the feet!

The giraffe on the onsie is yellow, so I made the card to be like the outfit.

My vellum is striped and I layered it over a lovely lady pink cardstock.

I am entering this in the JUGS challenge also.

Freshly Made Sketches # 186 & Colour Me # 71

I needed another Baby shower card...this time it is a little girl!

I couldn't resist the Ellie & Friends Elephant from Mama Elephant again and the umbrella from WPlus9 Pretty Patches Umbrella which I did some selective die cutting to make the handle a wee bit longer!

Once again I have some falling hearts...(I did just order a raindrop stencil!)

This card is going in two challenges!!  I know surprise, surprise...I can handle it if one is a sketch and one is a color challenge...ha ha!

MIM & The Challenge plus a Baby card

First I want to share a baby shower card because I need it!

My nephew and his wife are expecting a baby in June and there is a 'couples' shower next week.

I asked my niece if she knew what their color scheme for the baby's room was or if they had a 'theme' (thinking, airplanes, baby animals, etc).

I was told NO themes that she knew but their colors were black, gray, white with splashes of red!  Okay then....

So I pulled out Mama Elephants:  Ellie and Friends (cause you know elephants are 'gray'!) and this is what evolved!

Little piglet was colored with the "C" copic colors and Ellie was colored with the "W's".  I was going to have Ellie blow red bubbles, then it evolved to the umbrella) cause it is a "shower" and then because we needed rain, I thought it could rain hearts because again, it is a BABY!

So there you have it, my baby shower card...BTW it is a BOY!

 

MIM # 210  is using vellum to soften patterns.

I pulled out Wishes come True and stamped the dotty candle in rainbow colors for my background.

The vellum is a tag and the sentiment is new from Graceful Greetings along with a smaller sentiment from Wishes come True.

I am also entering this in "The Challenge" 

which asks for "dots" on your paper!  yahoo, I have lots of dots on this card!

Stuck in the Middle with you!

Simon Says Stamps has a new Monday challenge:

"Stuck in the middle with you"!

I saw this technique demonstrated on Jennifer McGuire's blog and thought I would give it a try with those cute elephants from WPlus 9.

Now this is not to say there are triplets...just thought it was a cute card and I do love those little guys!

And the one with the balloon is "stuck in the middle"!

Online Clean & Simple Day 4 ~ Faux Embossing

This technique is tone on tone die cutting to get a look of embossed backgrounds.

I used PTI Polka dot Parade: Baby,  Wonderful Words:  Baby die and a sentiment from Inside & Out: Baby.

 

We have SUN!  Go out and make it a great day!!

Online Clean & Simple Day 3 ~ Layered Inking

Jennifer's technique was layered inking.

I used SSS island blue ink and versamark...I didn't have the falling stars stencil, so I thought since this was a new baby I would go with my falling hearts!

the stamps are Avery Elle:  Storybook, Lawn Fawn die:  grassy borders, Lil'Inkers stitched mat.

I colored the cute fawn with copics.

 

Tthe sentiment is embossed with zing: Pink.

I cut just the edge of the feather and placed the strip of dotted paper on the inside

 

I stamped the feather with sweet blush for a soft feather, then used raspberry fizz for congratulations.

I have a friend who is going to be a grandma again...another baby girl, I thought I would send this to her daughter!

A baby card

About 10 days ago I showed a baby girl card here coloring all the balloons in shades of pink.

Today I am showing the one I made with shades of blue.

You are NOT surprised to see the cut out shape are you?

I warned you that I would be using it a lot!  *wink*

 

I had to selectively stamp the "BABY" because it was meant to be stamped horizontal.

Another NBUS Challenge!!

I am sure there was NEVER any doubt in anyone's mind that

Darnell would be hosting another NBUS Challenge !

She maybe didn't think it would happen so soon, but we knew it, right?  She is ONE special lady, and that includes her little "hammy" too!

I have a couple of "Never Before Used Schtuff"!!

The first is the cloud impression folder I have had a month or two, just never used!

The second is the bunny and balloons because it is NEW!  I just got it and had to ink it right up.

 

Darnell, you are a joy to read and get to know, if you ever take a road trip up north, you must look me up...perfect time of year to visit the Pacific Northwest and our coast is beautiful!!

 

I decided this would be a baby girl card, so I colored the balloons with many of the copics I have in those pretty pink/red shades.  I better do one in blues, too, huh?  Oh, and I added glossy accents to the balloons...oh it is so sweet and shiny in real life!!

 

Congrats on reaching another milestone, Darnell!!

Baby Girl card this time!

My BFF brought down the quatrefoil cover plate, so I took advantage of having that!

The elephant is from Tremendous Treats:  Birthday

and the sentiment is a SSS stamp:  Handwritten Borders.

Laurie Willison made her first PTI MIM video and she did fabulous!

Thank you Laurie for the great tutorial, I love the tone on tone, adds a lot of dimension without a lot of color keeping it very CAS!

I pulled out Baby Button Bits and now I can enter it in the CAS on Sunday as they want a baby card!

 

Happy week for me, my BFF is here for the week!

We are getting our fingers inky getting ready for SAF!

Can hardly wait!!
