MIM ~ Creating Mixed Background Texture

Did you all see the video from Stephanie over at the PTI blog showing how she Creates Mixed Background with Texture?  Go check it out...it is pretty awesome!
I have two cards to share using this technique:
I stamped my leaves off the paper once and then stamped it on the card to give a little lighter inking.
Then I stamped my Botanical Bounty flowers and added some colored pencils to highlight both the flowers and the leaves.  I used the hexagon cover plate for the added texture
I liked it so well, I tried one more card"
this Beautiful Berries: Spring set has a small little cluster of flowers and that is what I used for the top background, again, I stamped it off so it would be lighter than the original bouquet.  I again used the hexagon cover plate and added a sentiment on a banner from Fresh Bouquet.  My bling is PPP marshmallow confetti.

And do you remember the birthday pop up card I made with an elephant?  Well, I made another one...
do you see the top of the hand?  Any ideas what that might belong to?  I had to draw it myself...
The little monkey from Tremendous Treats...I thought it was so cute, I just had to use him holding the balloons and floating away.  I probably should have checked my position before gluing him down, then his hand wouldn't have been showing!  ha ha
Well that is all for me folks, time to relax for the evening!
Yeah tomorrow is Friday!
I only have four more days to get my crafting in...then friends I am having a total knee replacement bright and early Tuesday morning.  I think I will be out of commission for awhile, so bear with me, I will get around to visiting when I can!

8th Year traditional Anniversary gift is Bronze ~ Heather

Heather has a video up HERE to show how she used bronze on her card.
Are you having fun with the Stamp - a - Faire?
Linda and I sure are having fun!
We were lucky to have the bronze perfect pearls.
I didn't sleep much last night, I am kind of a walking zombie, not very pleased with this card, but I guess that is par for the course, can't love everything I make!!

NBUS Challenge #7

Hi Friends, well what would we do without our very own Darnell to encourage us to use the things we coveted, purchased, then put away, never to be seen again?
We wait for our dear friend to hold another NBUS Challenge!!!
Yeah, thank YOU, Darnell!!
So my BFF used this cute hedgehog on a card and I drooled enough over it, she bought it for me and brought it to me in July when she was here for a visit...first time to be used, also the cool leaves are new from PTI Fancy Foliage Detail Dies which I sponged over with some Green Parakeet!  A few PPP sequins finished off the card!
Darnell says we can link up to three cards, that won't be nearly enough to use up my NBUS stamps, but it is a start!
I hope you will play along and use your new or old but never before used Schtuff!
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

Dye Ink Direct to Paper!

These are both the same technique which is swiping the dye ink directly onto paper.  This first one has the HUGS cut out and layered it over the inked background.  I die cut the hearts out of the same paper...added some heart & small plain sequins.  This is PTI Big Hugs die and stamp set.

The "Hello" is a WPlus9 die and the stars are a PTI border die...the little stars attached to the face of the card are from the inside of the star border.

Fun and bright cards to send to friends!  Have a great weekend friends!

Colour Me # 61

I tired another stencil using Jennifer McGuire's technique...lay the stencil down and use a white pigment ink to daub over the stencil.  Then let it dry thoroughly and using the same stencil move it off set just a bit and use the same color ink as the paper...you end up getting what looks like three colors on your card when in fact you only used two inks.

The Crafters workshop stencil Mimi Flower Piecing, PTI orange zest paper and ink, HA white unicorn pigment ink, Keep it Simple Dies, PTI terra cotta tile paper, Big Hugs die, DCW gold thread.
thanks for taking a look!
We have a gorgeous day...almost 70 degrees and beautiful blue skies!
