The Challenge #85

The Inspiration challenge over at The Challenge # 85 is rainbows and celebrating!
Thank you Lesley for this fun challenge and for being back to creating cards!  Love to see your work and have missed you!

Lin and I went to the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo today at the Puyallup, WA Fair grounds.  We have not been before and it was great fun!  We did spend a wee bit of money *wink!
This die is one that I purchased.
It is a Memory box die called Butterfly Swell!
I used the Distress Oxide inks to blend my rainbow and then die cut my butterflies.
I added some Nuvo Jewel Drops and a sentiment from Memory Box: Spring Lilacs
I am celebrating my BFF this week!  We are together and having a blast making cards and trying new techniques.  AND we are celebrating her birthday which isn't until the 24th but I will be gone by then!!
Thanks for stopping by and visiting friends!

Heart Hugs, friends!

SAF Regency Era with Melissa Phillips

Moving right along to the Regency Era,
Melissa Phillips has a couple of videos using the stamps and dies from that era, which seems to be softer colors and a lot of cross stitching.
Beautiful cards you showed us Melissa!
I am a little more CAS, but I had a lot of fun with this one,
I love the wreath and can see using that in the future on cards!
I also loved the softer shades of the pattern paper!

Now we are onto the 1920's with Heather!

Heart Hugs!

Curtain Call Inspiration: Sunflowers!

Clearly Besotted is the sponsor for this challenge over at the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge  with a chance to win their own set called: Blooming Marvelous stamps and Die Collection!!  Yahoo!!

I used PTI Simple Sunflower.  First I die cut the circle using a nestability die, then I marked off the circle on the card base and stamped my flowers.  the sentiment is a Hero Arts one that I shaped inside the actual die while it was on the glass block in order to get the sentiment to follow the circle.  I masked the flowers to add the leaves.

And now because I am going to take the new Online Card Class:  Insider, I am paying special attention to the inside of the cards, so here is this one:
It kind of goes with the front of the card sentiment:  amazing friend!!  Oh and I didn't forget to add a flower to the front of the envelope...but of course it was AFTER I cleaned and put the whole set away!!  I am learning, it is just taking me a while..!!

You do want to play along with this Sunflower explosion of cards?  go check it out...

Muse Challenge # 7

I  loved her one layer card and the fact that the flower had petals and looked so nice when masked off.  I used the Friend's Till the End two flowers.  I stamped the larger flower in the center and then die cut the flower using a scrap of acetate.  I used the acetate as a mask before stamping the smaller flower on each side of the larger one.  As I was getting ready to tape it down I turned it like it is and decided I really liked it on its side, so left it that way!  The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I heat embossed it with white filigree embossing powder.  I tried several different colors of ribbon and decided on the bright summer sunrise and then added the scallop on the bottom, which is actually the heart die turned the other way!  I love how this has so much "white" space...it may not be at the bottom like hers, but it is on the top and side and I really like how it looks.  I added the hand drawn white dashes around the whole sentiment piece to finish it off.  The sentiment is also adhered with dimensionals.
