Whimsical Wednesday and more

Hi friends, more inspiration from the Gina K YOUTUBE!
This was more ink blending, but using warm colors...like red, orange, yellow, etc.
Although this one isn't warm, is it?  however I think the softer blue and lighter green appears warmer than the darker of those colors...
Gina K: Wild Blossoms
Verve:  Beautiful things (sentiment)

Okay, this is definitely warm colors, yesterday it was 87 degrees, today it is raining and maybe 65!
Gina K: By the Sea (chairs)
Gina K:  Country Roads (flower silhouette and sentiment)

And BECAUSE I received the GINA K "OCEAN MINDED" set, I had to make two special cards
The first one is for my daughter and SIL, their 21st anniversary was yesterday...she told me it is her most favorite card I have ever made her...I think because it is personal and also, she LOVES the beach!  I wrote in their initials with a copic pen...and footprints in the sand!
And one more for a granddaughter who will be 17 this coming Friday:
I decided to do a sunset at the beach...and I had her 2 black lab dogs with her, but they are already running off down the shore!  *wink
Okay that is all I have for today...for now at least!
Hope you all have a wonderful and happy weekend!

Wednesday Whimsy ~ Waxpaper Background

Hi Friends, I am enjoying playing along with Gina K on Mon. Wed and Fri...new techniques, old ones, coloring and lots of fun making different cards.
Wednesday Gina used wax paper, iron and stencils to transfer the image to paper, then brushed on ink to paper...Very fun and made awesome looking backgrounds.  Here is the link to watch her video for Wednesday Whimsy with waxpaper background.

First card is a birthday card...I used DOX inks for my background
 Gina K stencil:  Daisy Chain
Gina K:  Layered Daisies
The Greetery: Sentiment
MFT stencil:  Funky florals
Catherine Pooler inks
Hero Arts:  Butterfly Fancy die
Penny Black:  Sympathy Sentiments

Gina K stencil:  Daisy Chain
PTI:  Humming Along
Verve:  Beautiful things (sentiment)

I make cards for my church and today I received an email saying two people had died and could I please send a card to the family from the parish.  I don't believe they were Covid related, but they were elderly people.  I really could spend all day making sympathy cards, just this week I have had to send out a couple for myself and now more from the church.
I did get one birthday card today though too, so that is good.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are all doing well.
Here in Oregon we have had 102 deaths related to COVID 19 and they were all elderly and with underlying conditions.  We are still being very careful and staying away from public places, my younger daughter does my shopping for me...so we are safe.

Wednesday Whimsy with Gina K

Wednesday nights are another Gina K video...so once again my BFF and I skyped Thursday morning and tried this fun technique that Gina K shared.  You can watch the video HERE!
You use a solid image stamp and use white pigment ink, let it dry or dry with heating tool.
Then you start coloring!  I tried to use two different shades of colors for both the leaves and the flowers.  I used prismacolor pencils.  Then I think the magic happens when you add touches of white pencil to the tips of the petals, it just highlights and makes them seem more real.
This is a Gina K stamp:  With love and Prayers
the Hello die is WPlus9
the sentiment strip is from The Greetery

I had trouble coming up with solid images, but Linda reminded me about the Penny Black stamps that are slapstick cling and mostly solid...She actually gifted this one to me for my birthday...I love it and have used it a lot.
Penny Black:  Painter's Vase
the Greetery:  sentiment
prismacolor pencils
Hero Arts white pigment ink

One more image!!
Penny Black:  Dreams of Love
The Greetery:  sentiment

Well, that does it for me!  Thanks for stopping and taking a look!  I really did enjoy this technique and wonder how it would look on a dark blue or even a dark purple...I might have to give it another try!  I am making these kind of cards so I can send them out to friends that I can't see right now because of the coronavirus.  Although here in Oregon I think we have it under control, and it will stay that way as long as people don't come here from other states that are allowing businesses and travel to open up!
STAY HOME, STAY SAFE!
