DD # 93 and Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge # 210

This card is for TWO challenges,

Stamps:  WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals, Beautiful Blessings
paper:  MFT gray, PTI white, sweet blush and sweet blush pattern paper
Lil' Inkers Circle stitch mat
ink:  HW soft granite, PTI sweet blush, hibiscus burst
PTI Impression Plate: linen

My friend Linda, found this new challenge for us...she really doesn't like sketches so much, but she made a really great card with it.
I needed another sympathy so I thought the soft pink and gray would make a nice card for that category.
My friend leaves tomorrow to go back to the Seattle are...we had a great 6 days of playing, stamping and having lunch out!  It is so fun to sit side by side and play together!

Have a good Sunday!

Dynamic Duos # 86

Nice soft colors this week at Dynamic Duos Challenge #86 so I took advantage of it to make another sympathy card.  I am with my BFF, Lin in Seattle, so I used her PTI "Willow". Stamped the trunk in kraft the the leaves in sweet blush,  I added a strip of aqua mist paper and stamped the same leaves in aqua mist ink.  A Lil' Inkers stitched mat stack
was the base for the tree.
I hope you will have a chance to play along.
Heart Hugs,
Colleen

Dynamic Duos # 72

Last year at this time my family was touched with cancer... Lymphoma for my older daughter and at the same time I was diagnosed with a cancer tumor on my lung (NOT lung cancer).  My daughter went through 5 months of chemo, I had surgery to remove my left lower lobe in order to remove the cancer.  I am happy to report the latest scans for both my daughter and myself show NO signs of cancer!  When I saw Tracey's card for Breast Cancer Awareness (which is October) I couldn't resist following her lead.
I saw a video by Jennifer McGuire on Simon Says Stamps and new I wanted to try this technique.
Here is a side view of the card.  I die cut the ribbon 6 times using the darker pink cardstock and then I die cut it from the face of the card.  I then glued them all together...just gives the ribbon some dimension!

stamps:  A Muse:  Fight Like a Girl, PTI: Faith & Hope
ink:  memento angel pink, PTI raspberry fizz
paper:  PTI white and raspberry fizz
die:  PTI Faith & Hope

I would like to take this time to share with all you, my blogging friends how touched I was one day by a "Random Act of Kindness" while waiting in the Oncologist office.  A lady came in and presented me with a bouquet of flowers and told me she was just doing a random act of kindness!  If anyone needs a "lift" and words of encouragement it would be people who are going through chemo or even dialysis.  My Bible Study ladies are going to take this project on and go once or twice a week to those centers close to our home and present several people in the waiting room with little gifts...it turns out flowers are NOT the best for chemo patients because of the smell...they would be fine in a dialysis center.  Dark chocolate is wonderful for chemo patients...wrapped in a glassine bag with the word "courage" stamped  on it, then a word of encouragement tucked inside, sealed with a piece of washi tape.  Sadly the dialysis patients cannot have chocolate, but bookmarks, tea, magnets, a flower bulb are all ideas we have come up with and we are very excited about "Paying forward to others that Random Act of Kindness" shown to me.

Go forth and be Jesus to the world...give out love and kindness and compassion to your neighbors!

Heart Hugs,
Colleen

Dynamic Duos # 69

Two beautiful colors together...hmm, what to do with them?  More flowers?  Balloons? Gift packages?  Finally thought of the beautiful set from PTI called Meadow Greens and boy do we have a lot of Queen Ann's Lace blooming in our field...and you know sometimes they do have a shine of green to them, but sometimes they are pure white too...but I went with the green flower and leaves and of course that left me with mounting it on a blue card!  and I love this sentiment, sometimes those words just need to be said for that one person who seems to go out of their way to make the day special for you, or they have just been there when you really needed them!

Do you want to play along, you have enough time to make a card and post it HERE at the Dynamic Duos Blog :  the challenge ends Thursday at noon, so you can do it!!
                                                                                                                  Stamps:  PTI Meadow Greens
Ink:  simply chartreuse, versamark, black memento
paper:  PTI white, blueberry sky, blueberry sky pattern paper

Do you see that we get to pick our second color for this challenge?  Well, there is nothing like purple and green...love it!  If you want to select your own color and play along, go HERE to the Dynamic Duos Blog and show us what you like to pair up with the plum color!
I had a group of ladies over for lunch (we all went on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Croatia three years ago) last week and they bought some of my cards...all the sympathy's and the praying for you cards all left with them!  Is it that time of our life where we are in more need of those cards?  Sad to think about.  But I thought I should start adding to my stash.

stamps:  Beautiful Butterflies
dies:  Beautiful Butterflies, circle nestabilities
paper:  fine linen, spring moss

inks and pens:  PTI plum pudding (stamped off once), memento pear tart marker (dash lines)
misc:  perfect pearls: forever violet,  forever green

Dynamic Duos #65

Two pretty colors for the Dynamic Duos this week.  I used memento Angel Pink and PTI Ocean Tide. The stamp set is the new SAF set called Reasons to Smile...I LOVE poppies...I stamped the Flowers with the same color, just let it dry before adding the centers which help to give it a darker shading.  I used PTI Background Basics: Gingham for the strip on the side.

Thanks for taking a look!! I am stamping with my BFF in her home in Maple Valley, WA. On Thursday we are heading back to my house in West Linn, OR and she will stay with me for two weeks...boy are we going to have fun stamping...my husband will probably only see us at meals!! But he is coaching a varsity high school volleyball team, so he will be really busy with that all day!

Dynamic Duos # 62 and Seize the Birthday

The colors are coral orange and black...and if you want to add a butterfly, then that is considered the "desert".  I used a sketch from the Summer Online Card class and made this card:
You can go HERE to access the challenge over at the Dynamic Duos blog.  I used berry sorbet for the butterfly and stamped with versamark, then used clear embossing powder to give it some shine.  The sentiment is Side by Side Sentiments all from PTI.  The black twine is from the Twinery.  I embossed the sentiment on black with white powder.  I used some dimensional tape on the wings of the butterfly.
Also entering this in the Seize the Birthday Challenge where "anything goes"...you can go HERE  to access that challenge.

Dynamic Duos # 50, Freshly Made Skteches and CASology: Care

Wow, can you believe I am going to try three challenges with one card?  I love it when it comes together like this!!
First up is Dynamic Duos  with the colors berry sorbet and angel pink, the sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches, and finally I am including this in the CASology: CARE Challenge.  Phew, I think that is it...

I took creative license with the sketch and just added a ribbon for the banner look.  I first stamped my sentiment and ribbon, then I added the hand drawn lines above and below.  After that I masked it off and starting stamping with an assortment of flowers in the colors for dynamic duos challenge.  I placed it all on a berry sorbet card.

Dynamic Duos # 50 pairs up with CASology: care

HERE is the link for Dynamic Duos, go check out the DT and their cool projects.  HERE at CASology it is all about "care"... care for you; I am here for you...you get the idea...

I combined the two and used a sentiment from Verve.

Paper:  Papertrey white, sweet blush pp
ink:  berry sorbet, memento angel pink, fine linen
stamps:  Happiness in Bloom, Verve

And I want to share with you that my daughter Dina had her PET scan and it came back NEGATIVE!!  NO sign of cancer anywhere!!  We put our trust and care in His hands, and HE answered our prayersWe are all on cloud nine, my daughter is just beaming...all the time!  And she is hatless/scarfless!!  Here is a pic of her and her 9 year old daughter who also shaved her head last October:
Thank you to the many many blogging friends ~ around the world ~  especially in the Netherlands who have continued to pray for her!

Dynamic Duo # 43 and Less is More

This week  Dynamic Duos colors have a fresh, springy combination of sky blue and grass green. And the More is Less challenge is asking for :ONE LAYER, but they are also asking for SPOTS and STRIPES!  I did ONE big spot by doing a masking and sponging in the aqua mist color, then adding a bit of the wreath from Birds and Blooms.  I added the stripe on the side like it could be a ribbon...Since I was short of sympathy cards, that is what I decided to use for my sentiment.  I normally don't combine two challenges because my mind just doesn't work that way, but this time it just came together so nicely (I think, at least!).

ALL products are PTI
paper:  white
ink:  aqua mist, new leaf
stamps:  Birds and Blooms, Fillable Frames Additions
Go HERE to link up to the dynamic duos color challenge, and Go HERE to link up to the Less Is More Challenge Blog.  Thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment if you so desire!  I love it when you do!

I used PTI's Fancy Flourish and Lovely Layers.  I followed a tip from Deanna about letting the first stamping dry and then using the same color to stamp a second time.  That is what I did with the Lovely layer flower to add the veins and the second layer of yellow color.      Go HERE  to check out all the inspiration and to link up your card using these TWO colors.
