Water color brush tip to colored pencil tip

I wanted to share another coloring technique that I learned at the ESCR retreat.  This one was brought to us by Darnell!  She had stamped and printed on watercolor paper for us an assortment of images and we passed them around and picked one.  This is the one I selected:
I tried to get some shading on the balloons and an ombre look on the sentiment.  I found I had a lot more control with the colors doing this method.  I splattered some blue ink after I was done with the image.  I still have a long ways to perfect this way of coloring, but I think this is going to be my go to watercolor technique!
One more card showing this technique of water brush tip to tip of colored pencil:
Thanks for stopping by friends...more techniques to come

Heart Hugs, friends!

You rocked this technique, Col! I love how you watercolored that birthday card! You gave it lots of dementia with your shading and ombre coloring. Thank you for the shoutout and for the beautifully colored grateful card! It is even more stunning in person!! A++!! Hugs, Darnell

Beautiful and bright, Colleen. Love how colourful it is and your watercoloring is fabulous. I think this will be my go-to watercoloring technique too. For more shading/contrast, I’ve gone in with regular color pencils (not the watercolor ones). xx

I love that you are taking what you learned and showing us your techniques! Both cards are wonderful! That is a great way to get more out of pencils, for sure! I tend to shy away from them, but this gives great control.
