I have another card for the CAS Mix Up Card Challenge for January.
I used cling film and a faux pearl technique to get the cool background.
I dropped some Adirondack acrylic "pearl" paint onto my Ranger mat and dabbed it with a scrunched up bit of cling wrap and dabbed it over my white cardstock. When it was dry,(and it only took a few minutes) I sponged over it with some DOX ink. It looks like a blizzard with the swirling snow! he he
I used cling wrap, stamped my sentiment and die cut my sloping hillside (poppystamp).
You have until the 24th to enter this challenge!

Oh, love this pretty card, Colleen! Awesome background! Very serene scene and wonderful touch of red!
Beautiful background with the FMOP technique Colleen. Love that sweet white die-cut trees and snow slope ... need to add that to my wish list! :) Love your backdrop for your photos! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx
Beautiful background Col. I need to try that again. Very pretty, friend.
Your card is beautiful! What is DOX ink? And what is the name of the die you used? Thx in advance
DOX is Distress Oxide Inks from Ranger, the die is a poppystamp die called Sloping Hillside.
Yep, it looks like a blizzard...in fact a lot like Michigan lately!! But your blizzard is actually prettier than the real thing!! :0) And I love that die you used...so simple but absolutely perfect! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! :0)
WOW! This is an amazing Faux Mother of Pearl technique, Colleen! and the DOX worked wonderfully for the sponging! Love that die cut too! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Mix Up!

Gorgeous snowy Faux Mother of Pearl cling wrap technique for your beautiful sky background, Colleen. Such a sweet and pretty CAS Christmas card design, my friend. So pleased you were able to join us at CAS Mix Up. Hugs
This is so beautiful and a wonderful card. I do have to tell you however, I saw this very same thing last week when I looked out the window!! Right now the sun is starting to come out and it just sparkles on the snow.
What a stunning CAS beauty this card is! Maybe this technique can be one of the things we do while in Kansas. I've never tried it before and would love to learn from the masters. Love your sweet card my friend! I'm counting the days....
AWESOME again. Love it.
What a lovely background you created Colleen - it does look like swirling snow in the sky - I love the red sentiment - I rarely think of doing a sentiment in a color other than black - and the red is perfect here! Thanks for playing with us at the CAS Mix Up! Julia xx
