Mix it Up Monday with Gina K

Hey friends, how are you doing?

Today I have a card from the Mix it Up Monday Gina K video series!

You can go HERE to watch the video...Gina took a new stamp set (Free to Flourish)  and colored with prisma colored pencils on kraft paper, she also used a stencil for the background to add a soft interest.  Please go check her out and join in the fun!

I used these supplies:

stencil:  The Greetery Berry Branch Stencil

The little bud is from a different stamp set of Gina K's called Whimsical Flowers.

It appeared to have a more solid image rather than an outline, so I thought, hmmm I will stamp it with white pigment ink and color over it with the pencils...we have done that before!

So I did, but you know, it just didn't blend in because the other images all have thick black stamped outlines.  So what I did was pick up a copic multiliner pen and drew in my own lines!!  Fortunately it kind of works because it is "sketchy"...I am no artist!

That's it for me...I can hardly wait for tomorrow night to try another technique and just have fun making cards!

Merry Monday with Gina K

Hello Friends!

I am so glad I have this crafty hobby to take my mind off all the unrest and awful things happening in this country.

I have been joining Gina K on her weekly videos.  Monday is called Merry Monday and she always makes a Christmas card...Yeah, I love having them all ready when I need to mail them out in December.  I need to take it a step further like Gina does, she addresses the envelopes and signs their names inside!  Wow I am impressed...I am lucky to get a sentiment stamped inside...I am working on doing that as I make the cards, sometimes I do get a pile of them, then I have to take the time to get a sentiment stamped in each one.  do you all use the same sentiment stamp inside?  I have been putting the year on a post it note to indicate I used that sentiment on that year.  I just feel it should be different from year to year...

this time Gina used her Stellar Snowflake in a different way, she used the stencil as an impression on the white paper, then she also added some lines by scoring on her ScorPal, then she smeared on some ink...it is easier to use ink that is rectangle than curved ones!  I used DOX, pumice stone and peacock feather and I even used a blending brush.  It gives it a rustic woodsy look and I like it.

My second card I used pumice stone and shaded lilac, then I die cut a snowflake, sorry I don't know who it belongs to...I was bad, I took out a bunch of snowflake dies to use last Christmas and they didn't get put back in with their stamp...OOPSIE, my bad!  anyway, a cute little snowflake and a sentiment from a Penny Black stamp called Frosty Flakes.
