Merry Monday # 75

I am so glad that I have been playing all year with two Christmas Challenges...I have a good stash of cards...so no last minutes frantic late nights for me!!

A new color challenge over at  Merry Monday ...I had to think on this one!

You can see the colors below: red, dark brown, vanilla and champagne/gold with some shimmer...I used a piece of dark chocolate for the actual card and stamped an image from an old Stampin' Up set called Peaceful Wishes...it was stamped with Encore! ultimate metallic gold...so pretty!  I placed a piece of gold shimmer paper behind it and place it all on a vintage cream card base.  The sentiment is stamped with Colorbox red hot along with the berries which I added a bit of glossy accents to the berries for a little more shine!  That's it folks, thanks for taking a look!

Festive Friday Colour Challenge # 17

Meredith was right...I do LOVE these colors!!  Go HERE to check it out and play along!!
I die cut the largest Damask Snowflake (PTI) from the white paper and adhered it to the navy (enchanted evening) card base, then I die cut the smaller snowflake from the silver shimmer paper.  I used a circle nestabilities and stamped the JOY and the other sentiment from Big & Bold Holiday Wishes with the enchanted evening ink.  I adhered everything with dots from HERE at Deanna's blog...she has them on her etsy with the link below her picture.  I love these dots...they allow a little bit of dimension but not as thick as the 3M dimensional tape...they come in several sizes of dots and they are really perfect when layering flowers and leaves or when you want a little added dimension, but not a lot for postal purposes!!  Go check them out, you get a 1,000 for $5!

Addicted to CAS: A Christmas card...

Addicted to CAS  has a new challenge and the code word is "Music"...It is very faint (intentionally, but easier to see in real life) but I stamped Background Basics:  Music with soft stone ink all down the page.  Then I stamped various stamps from Nativity Silhouettes in the same ink.  I then embossed this Christmas sentiment stamp from Penny Black.  I mounted it on Scarlet Jewel paper, then onto a Soft Stone Card.

Merry Monday! Festive Friday! Building my Christmas stash!

I love these color combos and think they are terrific for Christmas!  In fact I bought a roll of kraft paper just to wrap gifts and cover it with red twine, ribbons and tags...I think the presents will look so pretty under the tree!  I actually had this piece of kraft already stamped with some branches and pine cones from a set my BFF has...I had pulled it out and also found this strip of red in the same box, so I had mounted it on the side and wasn't sure what I was going to do with it, but then the MERRY MONDAY Challenge came up and voila... and I just realized this would work for the FESTIVE FRIDAY CHALLENGE !  It was craft red and green AND peace.  I pulled out Mistletoe and Holly and die cut my mistletoe with some ripe avocado paper and then stamped the design with simply chartreuse.

Paper:  PTI kraft, Authentique collection:  wonder, pure poppy

stamps:  Mistletoe & Holly, Peaceful Pinecones, Love Lives Here:  Holiday
dies:  Mistletoe & Holly
Ink:  versamark, simply chartreuse, MFT  colorbox red hot
May Arts twine

Thanks for taking a look...almost all the kiddos are back in school today...mom's (and grandma's) can have a breather!!  My BFF is babysitting her two girls...they start tomorrow!  Sadly she won't be crafting with me via Skype today!

another Christmas card...inspiration Hero Arts Blog

I wish this card photographed better, cause in real life it is so very sparkly....I saw a video on the Hero Arts Blog that Julie Ebersole did...I had the "Three Trees" stamp set from Hero Arts long before I knew of PTI...so I pulled them out and stamped them with a touch of Simply Chartruese on one side of the tree and then Ripe Avocado on the other side...after that was dried I cut out the tree and dragged the tree across my glue pad...then I spread some glitter all over the trees.  I used the snowdrift dies from PTI and edged them with the chamomile tea dye and rubbed the edge into the glue pad and added glitter to the top of the snow drifts...The sentiment is from the 2010 Holiday Tags stamp set...Thanks for stopping in and taking a look.

Tremendous Treats: Christmas

I have loved the little Tiny Treats:  Christmas and was really excited to see some of my favorite stamps be increased in size...now they are perfect for a card....I used the little bird on the fir branch and colored him in...I must admit to CAS-ing Debbie Olsons blog...she colored this little bird also.  I have stamped all of the stamps from this set onto tags...I still need to color them, but they are just perfect for filling up the tags.  I added some stickles to the trim of the bird hat and the little pom pom too...oh and then I couldn't resist adding some to the branches...just looks like a light dusting of sparkly snow!!

Unity Stamps and Card

Isn't he just one cute little snowman all bundled up??  I loved him when I first saw him at Super CHA in Chicago last summer.  He is an "Itty Bitty" by Unity and he came with the sentiment "winter joy"...I die cut the snow mounds from a PTI die and edged it with the chamomile duo dye ink and added some glitter to the top..He is so cute.

A card from a PB & J Card Sketch

http://pennyblackinc.wordpress.com/2011/10/24/pbj-monday-with-jill-card-sketch/

The sketch came from the Penny Black blog listed above...and I had some "inchies" so I decided to try my hand at it...I just received a PTI order with those darling Tremendous Treats: Christmas...I couldn't resist using them for this card...the sentiment is actually from the original Tiny Treats:  Christmas.

First Christmas Card of the Season

I bought a Verve Notebook stamp and Die, and I really like that little thing...so I laid it out on the desk and played around with some paper that had the colors of Christmas...I pulled out a stamp set from PTI Peaceful Poinsettia...I used the smaller of the poinsettia stamps and did a little background along with the smaller leaf...I don't know, is it a bit to busy, you think??  There is a nice little red bling in the center of the flower...
