Merry Monday ~ Chalkboard challenge!

Kristie selected the chalkboard technique for this challenge over at Merry Monday.
I like this technique and hope you do too!
Please play along with us and go check out the cards by the design team!
I used a piece of PTI Smokey Shadow paper for my chalkboard.
I white embossed the images and sentiments and then colored in with some prisma
colored pencils.  The red dots are from a hole punch.
After it was all done, I sponged on some HA Unicorn white pigment ink around the edges and the images.

stamps: PTI Rustic Wreath, Joyful Christmas for sentiment

Seize the Birthday ~ the sentiment as focal point

Welcome to another Seize the Birthday challenge
Today our topping is to use your sentiment as the focal point.
If you are NOT a toppings person, then you can always go with
"ANYTHING GOES"!

My friend gave me a pack of these American Crafts diecut chalkboard frames for Christmas.  I thought they would be perfect for the birthday sentiment!
I made the background with strips of tape and a sponge dauber.
I hope you will join us in this challenge

Merry Monday # 86 Chalkboard Technique

This week the challenge is to use the Chalkboard Technique.
I pulled out PTI Happiest of Holidays and embossed it.
I also embossed the top and bottom borders from Boutique Borders: Sympathy.
Added some paper from MME: Merry Little Christmas
and some holly in the corners from Holly Jolly.
I also used a dauber and added some white pigment ink to the edges.
I hope you will go HERE  and be inspired to join in the fun.

Have a great weekend!
Heart Hugs,
Colleen

More of the Chalkboard Technique

Both my daughters were really drawn to the card I made for the MIM:  Chalkboard Technique, so I thought I would try a few others...give them something to choose from for their own card to their hubbies.
This card was made using the Ocean Tides paper which almost resembles the old greenish chalkboards of years past (my era at least!).  I used a big sentiment from the Think big series #11, and two sentiments from With all my Heart and Sending my love.  The flourish in the corners is from Big and Bold Holiday Wishes.
