Missing in Blogland

Hi friends, it feels so good to be back at home and in my craft room.  I was missing for almost two weeks...I didn't have idle hands though, I knitted 150 little pocket prayers that are sent to an army base in Texas...they get distributed to the men and women going over seas...the little knit pieces (1 1/2 x 3") gets a prayer for peace and a St. Michael Medal to protect them!  But boy it feels great to get inky again!
I missed several MIM and wanted to give them I try, I have completed one...it was Betsy's Color spot with die cuts.
Can you see the "thanks"?  It is the word die from Bold Borders Diagonal.  I felt it needed a little more pop of color, so using the same copic markers, I added some stripes to the side.

This next card was colored with copics and it was a freebie from Kit & Clowder.
Just for signing up for the monthly coloring class (and you can choose to color with copics or pencils) you get more than just the one image once a month, Alyce sends out lots of extras each month and extra tips and hints for using your medium in different ways...like water drops, splashes of water, striped wallpaper background...lots of fun things.  This Digi is from Di's Digi's.
I think these two little bears are so cute!  I colored them in a way that Kara taught us when we met for our Craft Retreat back in March!  I grounded the bears by adding a swoosh under them.  I haven't decided what kind of a card, but I suspect it will be a baby card!
Thanks for stopping by ...boy do I have a lot to catch up on because it was hard to get internet though the desert!  I will do my best to visit you all!

Heart Hugs, friends!

I love those fluffy bears, Colleen! You did an amazing job coloring them! Both cards are wonderful! I love how you colored the Copic stripes to match your lettering. So glad you're home and inking up those fingers once again!

You and Linda are the reason I finally signed up for Alyce's classes and I'm so glad I did! I've got one under my belt and can't wait to start another one. I'm so happy to see you getting inky again my friend!

That is a lot of knitting but for what a wonderful cause. What a kind thing to do for the men and women in the Army and a blessing for them. These cards show you didn't lose your touch in the time you were gone! The "thanks" is beautiful and that is a unique card. The fuzzy bears are adorable and will be a fun baby card.

How awesome to knit the pocket prayers! I’m sure they will be appreciated! We have a lady at our church who makes them, too. And, several of us crochet or knit prayer shawls. Your butterfly card is very pretty in gorgeous color! Looks like a fun technique. And, your bear card is jus as sweet as can be. It would make for the perfect baby card!

You have such a generous heart Colleen. All those men and women will feel special getting one of your knitted pocket prayer.

You have come back with a big bang. Two fantastic cards! Great technique with the hidden word. Adding the striping on the side of the card to match your Thanks is genius! And those bears ... adorable. Great colouring ... love how you've done their fur! xx
