Just Us Girls ~ Butterflies

I was privileged to meet in person the owner/manager of our Seize the Birthday Challenge and Nancy is also a designer for Just Us Girls Challenge too!

I went over to check out this "JUGS" Challenge and saw that it was butterflies...I couldn't pass that up

I drove up to Seattle and stayed with my BFF of 59 years, she lives south and east of SouthCenter and  she DOES NOT drive downtown Seattle (and I wouldn't either!!), so we had an adventure on the Light Rail!  I could legitimately claim ignorance as I am from Portland...hee hee...so with a little help we made it downtown and now we are pros and will do it again...and for seniors it is only $1 each way!  Woo hoo!!  We had a beautiful sunny warm day and meeting Nancy was a highlight of my trip...gosh we just talked like we had been best friends forever and were just catching up!!  She is the sweetest person ever and has a great sense of humor!  We had the best time getting to know each other, and I am sure we will be meeting up again especially since Nancy's son lives in Seattle now!

Card Concept # 9

 

This card is for the Card Concept Challenge :

We are to use Purple!!

 

The first thing I did was pull out all the "purples" I have and smeared them on a paper with a dauber.

some of them I was not liking the color.  I ended up using

PTI Winter Wisteria, Royal Velvet, memento grape jelly, distress ink: Dusty Concord.

I used three of those colors for the base of the card, using a swiping motion with my dauber.

Then I went back and laid a TCW Stencil: chicken wire and daubed it with the royal velvet, using the same dauber I sponged on some butterflies from a Heidi Swapp butterfly collection stencil.

I die cut a PTI mat stack # 1 in winter wisteria and heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.  The sentiment is from SSS:  Blessed.

We are having a glorious day...suppose to be 86 degrees today!!

I have already been out and planted my sugar snap peas!

I really need to wash some screens and some windows...
