SEIZE THE BIRTHDAY ~ GREEN + ANOTHER COLOR

Hi Friends!

This challenge at Seize the Birthday is brought to us by Nancy!

She is looking for the color GREEN and one other color on your BIRTHDAY CARD!

This is an MFT stamp called Happy Birthday Candles!

I inked it up with 4 different shades of green starting with the lightest at the bottom of the candle and worked up to a darker green at the top.  This gives it a nice ombre effect.

My second color is the yellow flame!

The sentiment is actually a die from SSS: Birthday wishes, and it comes with a background die which I chose to use vellum so you could still see the candles!

I hope you are inspired by all the awesome cards over at the STB blog and will visit the other designers and our special Party Guest Jolanda: https://jolandasinquespotstudio.com/ and Melanie: https://www.cardsbymelanie.com/2024/04/11/seize-the-birthday-281/ for this Challenge !

See you in the gallery!

COLOR HUES~ PEACH & GREEN

I enjoyed the peach and green color so much I decided to make another card
I used the Gina K  Modern floral stamp, stencil and die set for the flowers and the sentiments.
Sugar Pea Design Skinny stripe Stencil was used to make the stripes on the side.  I used Pinkfresh Inks in Peach fuzz and mint.  I used a light hand on the first stencil and then using the same color just went a little darker and harder with applying the color.
The sequins on the flowers are from Spellbinders called Peach Opalescent and OMG, are they ever beautiful, they have a shine and sparkle built into the flat no hone sequin which I just love!!
The green sequins are from PTI rainbow collection again, no holes in the center!

I.D.E.A.S by Darnell! this week is D= Dies

Hi my friends, Have you seen Darnell's clever idea if we need a jump start or something to help with our mojo?  She calls it I.D.E.A.S

I.D.E.A.S. for 2024

And by looking at the chart above you can see what each letter of the acronym stands for!  This second week in April is D for Dies or Die cuts.

I have a new die from Waffle Flowers:  Layered Party Hats:

I made a fun birthday card and I did want the party hats to be the main focus, so I used a Gina K confetti stencil for the background, but then decided it still needed something more and since I had these balloons sitting right next to me, already stamped and die cut, I thought perfect I will use them on this card along with the sentiment which is also from Gina K.  A fun and festive birthday card using a NBUS and also using Dies for the second week in April!

Fun way to use up more supplies in our stash and remind us to use what we have!

thanks Darnell!!

COLOR HUES #84 ~ PEACH & GREEN & NBUS

Hi Friends!
Today I am playing with Color Hues!
Peach and green are so very pretty together I love this combo!!
This is a Memory Box Embossing Folder (Marvelous Magnolia) and it came with three flower dies!
I made this purchase at our brick and mortar store within a 30 minute drive from my house. The store is called Cobblestone Creek Studios and is located in Damascus, Leslie is the owner and she is super nice and so helpful!
My BFF Linda (http://linscraftcorner-linda.blogspot.com/) and a special friend from California was in town so we took her to this store and boy did we have fun shopping and handling the merchandise!!
Linda, Darnell, and Me!
You all recognize Darnell, right?
She runs NBUS (Never- Before- Used- Schtuff
and now I.D.E.A.S.
I.D.E.A.S. for 2024
Her I.D.E.A. is for us to use our supplies and get those cards made.

Darnell was in town visiting her sister who has been here for a couple of weeks and will stay a couple more, but they have relatives in Eugene they wanted to visit.  She so graciously asked if we could spend a day with her.  Of course we jumped at the chance to be with her!
Shopping was so fun we came away with a plethora of goodies and then we had lunch and was given a free piece of decadent chocolate cake, and from there we went to a chocolate candy store!
So fun and so wonderful to spend time with her!

Back to the Color Hues!
I am happy to be able to play along again and happy to use some new goodies...oh now I can enter this in Darnell's NBUS Challenge #61 too!
So friends, thanks for stopping by and visiting, I pray you all have a lovely week!

SEIZE THE BIRTHDAY ~ SPRING FLORAL by Linda

Hi Friends, well the date says it is spring, but I suppose depending on where you live it may be still winter or even another season!
I am going with SPRING!

Linda is our hostess this month and selected a spring floral for our card topping.  You may always make any kind of birthday card if you don't want to do the floral thing!
This is from The Greetery:  Spring Meadow.  It has stencils and a die to go with it, no stamping!
I used a Pinkfresh Floral and Diamond tiles coverplate but embossed it instead of cutting with it.
It gives a nice texture to the background.
Our Surprise Party Guests are: Deborah you can find her card HERE
and Deb you can find her HERE
Please check out the Design Team and all their wonderful springy cards!
See you in the gallery!!

COLOR HUES #83 CREAM & BLUE

Hi friends, today I am playing along with the Color Hues Challenge # 83  Cream & Blue

I love that you can use hues of the colors, not a specific color name.

I have been playing with a new to me PTI set called Scribble Balloons and the set has some gifts also besides balloons!
And the sentiment is also new from  SSS CZ Birthday Basics.  I loved this sentiment the first time I saw Cathy Z use it.  And I thought it was perfect to go along with these birthday gifts.
the inks are from Pinkfresh Studios, the scallop is from Gina K ML 4.

I actually made a couple of these cards because I was very low on masculine kind of cards and I tend to go for balloons or candles for guys and of course they need to be in blues or greens!

But I did have to make a feminine card in pinks and reds!!

I just wanted to show you the different balloons and gifts in the set!
I think this last one is my favorite because I placed in on a piece of foiled paper from Gina K called Flurries and it is foiled with a piece of silver, it makes the card really sparkle!
