12 Days of Christmas Tags with Loll & Friends ~ Day 1

Hello friends...more tags from me, but these are a little more artsy.  I am playing with Loll and her 12 Days of Christmas Tags.  Today is Day 1!  I am CASing Loll's tag.  I loved her background, and I had a PTI Winter Woods Cover Plate that I used with acetate to make my own stencil.  I used Mixed Media paper and wet it down and then added in brushos.  I made the birch bark myself with a gray zig marker!  My deer (elk?) and bird are covered with gilding flakes...gold and copper (do they make red gilding flakes?  would have loved a red cardinal on the limb!!)
I stamped and embossed the sentiment from a Verve set "Beyond Measure".
I am looking forward to every day of this tag challenge...it really stretches me in thinking of technique and going outside my comfort zone!
Thanks Loll and Susan for all the awesome inspiration and beautiful tags!
Heart Hugs, friends!

  2. This is a terrific take on Loll's tag yet you made it your own by changing colors and style. Not sure about red flakes but there is always foiling. Love the wonderful background color you created although Ohio winters are usually gray. Beautifully done!

  3. Gorgeous!! LOVE your snowy scene, Colleen. The background colours are so soft and dreamy and great job with colouring the bark on your birch trees! Your deer is so pretty with the mix of gilding flakes. He shines brightly! And love the bright pop of red with the ribbon. Thanks so much for joining my tag event!! Hope you are feeling good! xx
