MIM # 269 Embossed & Outlined Backgrounds

Welcome friends, I have a card for this week's MIM which was a fun one to do, you can see Betsy's video HERE.  This card was made using PTI Peaceful Poinsettia.  The sentiment is from Wet Paint: Holiday. This was actually my second card for this challenge.  Below is my first card, but when I held it up and asked my husband what he saw, he replied, "catterpillars"!  WHAT???  so then I sent the picture to my BFF and she said "Christmas cactus".  Clearly I didn't want to post this, because it is suppose to be holly leaves, but I think your eye is drawn to the green and then I agree it does look 'weird', which is kind of why I brought it to my husband in the first place.  If you focus on the white you can see holly leaves...so this one is NOT going anywhere!  Ha ha!
You win some, you lose some...back to the drawing board!

Heart Hugs, friends!

  1. We all get those (not so great) cards from time to time. I rip mine in half so I'm not tempted to try and salvage it. LOL

  2. Oh Colleen...such a funny post! Thank you for my morning giggle!! Once you said to look at the white, I definitely could see the holly leaves, and with the little touches of red, it really is pretty. But I have to admit that I really LOVE your red card with just the touches of green...I am just in love with those traditional colors this year! Lovely, lovely card(s) my friend!! :0)

  3. I think both cards are very pretty, Colleen!! I can see where one could interpret the second one differently, but I still think it's very pretty with all the leaves!!

  4. Ok, now I see the holly leaves. I tried looking at just the white and just didn't get there. Funny, it's so obvious now. But I still see the cactus though too. Lovely cards, my friend.

  5. What a funny post to read with my morning coffee! You're right, my eyes did focus on the green the first time I looked at it. Both cards are pretty and Christmas cactus' are nice too!
