JUST US GIRLS Challenge meets CAS Mix-Up Challenge

I saw Jennifer McGuire water color on vellum using both Wink of Stella and the newer Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens.  I had to give it a try and enter ONE more card into the JUGS Challenge which asks for vellum! that is the "trend for this week"  and right on, because the last Online class was all about vellum and acetate on cards! (A friend gifted the class to me, sweet, right?)

This is the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set that was white embossed and then colored with red  and clear Wink of Stella.  After adding a bit of the red, I pulled it out with the clear to help give it some dimension and coloration (is that the right word?)  Other than clear WOS, I have gold and a silver, however I picked up a red the other day to give this technique a try.  I used gold for the leaves because I didn't have green!  And it is sad that we can't capture the sparkle on camera because it really does shine!  I embossed the sentiment in gold to tie in with the gold leaves.  And, I did color on the right side, not the back of the image!
I think this card is very elegant looking!
EDITED TO ADD:  Loll reminded me that I could also enter this card in the CAS Mix-UP Challenge, so I am linking this card to that challenge also...you need to emboss on your card, stamp and your choice!

Thanks for stopping by and having a look!

Heart Hugs, friends!

This is very beautiful and elegant Colleen. LOVE how you've coloured on vellum. I have tried with my zigs, but the vellum buckles from the water. Wink of stella works so wonderfully. Great job! This would be great for the CAS Mix Up challenge - Heat embossing. We'd love for you to share your card there. xx

Absolutely beautiful Colleen! I watched Jennifer's video too, and only own clear and silver WOS pens, so will definitely have to invest in some of the colors. I love this stamp set too...in fact this is the stamp set Birgit and I are using for our monthly challenge at the end of this month! Anyway, gorgeous card...love it!! :0)

Holy cow, Colleen, this is gorgeous. I love that stamp set and making that flower in vellum and coloring it on the right side really gives it life. I'm so glad you played along at Just Us Girls this week.

Even without being able to see the sparkle, this is GORGEOUS, Colleen! WOW! Beautiful colors and layout! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Mix Up!

Wow, a really stunning card. I love that you used the gold on the leaves. Foliage doesn't always have to be green and is sometimes more striking in another color. Well done!! And fussy cutting out the image is genius. Great take on the challenge, thanks so much for playing along with us once again this week over at Just Us Girls!!!

What kind of vellum does everyone use?

Beautiful card Colleen, I wonder if this would work with tombow markers and a blender pen too? Your colouring looks fantastic, Cathy x
