Merry Monday # 87

This is # 87 for Merry Monday and Christmas cards...if you want to play, go HERE and check it out...
As you can see, they are asking for a card with a mitten(s) on it...or your card could be shaped like a mitten!

Here in the Pacific Northwest in the Portland area...we did NOT get any snow that amounted to anything, although we did have the freezing weather, even down in the single digit for two nights!  I was a little bummed thinking it would be fun to pull out the sleds and mittens, scarves, boots etc and play in the snow with the grandkids who live right next door to me!  Instead of the real thing happening, I made a card...I finally inked up Two Feet Deep, added the little bundle of greenery and the mittens hanging off the sled.  The mittens are from Shape Up Snowman.   I had a scrap of the MME paper that resembles wood siding and thought PERFECT, the sled can lean against that!  My sentiment is from Winter Hills.  I almost forgot to tell you that I used some Stampendous shaved ice on a few parts of the card...the top of the sled, the mittens and a touch on the greenery...just enough to indicate there was snow and ice crystals forming!!  *wink*

We are having rain now and it is NOT fun because I am watching my daughter's dog, who is a HORSE, but would really like to be a lap dog!!  Ha ha...he jumps up and puts his paws on my shoulders and I am face to face with him!!  I told you, he is a horse...and when it was cold and freezing, we could let him out and bring him right back in because the ground was frozen...not so now..mud in the paws and he found a pasture with horse manure this morning...ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  I guess he goes on a leash and we walk him now!!

Have a super weekend friends,
I will be in the gym both days watching
Dina's two daughters play some club volleyball.
My husband is coaching the younger one's team!

Heart Hugs,
Colleen

At first glance this card looks so simple, but it really does have a lot of detail packed into it, and I love every bit of it! Great card! :0)

Me too, and those strip of birchlike paper look great!! Haha, had to laugh while reading about your daughter's dog, he sounds great, but I think your idea of walking him on a leash is the right one :) Hope you have a lovely weekend, Colleen!

Colleen, that wooden wall looks so real! I love this card with the sled and mittens. That's what we need here in Indiana. My son goes through the same thing with his dogs and the mud. They run along the fence and wear off the grass so it's just mud. They go in and out all day long!

I love your sweet little sledding/mitten card! We have gotten three snow storms in a week....which is really unusual!! And it's not even technically winter yet! Your daughter's dog must be a great dane....my sister has one too and he likes to do the same things!
